Description | Farm and Allotments Committee Minute Books. The Farm is Cuckoo Hall Farm, an arable farm in lower Edmonton near the River Lea, much of it became a sewage farm in 1905. The arable farm grew Rye grass and green vegetables. It ploughed and sowed but it did not harvest, rather it sold the growing crops for the purchaser to gather. The farm had a bailiff and farm workers plus about 8 horses. The sewage farm took all the Enfield sewage estimated at 1,000,000 gallons in 1905, rising to 2,000,000 gallons in 1917. |
